Job Description
The Senior Sales Manager is entrusted with the critical responsibility of promoting the Hotel and, when applicable, other properties within the chain in their designated area or region. This role is pivotal in achieving the following objectives:
- Attain optimal sales performance under the most favorable conditions for the company, ensuring the achievement of Hotel Budget and Individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Room Target, Meeting Room Target, Average Daily Rate (ADR), and Occupancy (OCC)
- Conduct strategic visits to former, existing, and potential clients with the express purpose of securing contracts, with a particular emphasis on commercial accounts
- Employ advanced forecasting techniques to anticipate business volume, taking into account crucial factors such as hotel occupancy, seasonal variations, meteorological conditions, and both internal and community-wide activities
- Meticulously define guest requirements and ensure that the services offered align precisely with client expectations and requests
- Diligently work towards meeting or exceeding targets by increasing room night production and average room rates as established by the Director of Sales
- Provide essential support to the Director of Sales in the comprehensive training of new team members, ensuring the maintenance of high standards across the sales department
- Maintain and update critical information pertaining to companies, contacts, profiles, and databases within the Anais system (Property Management System) with utmost accuracy and attention to detail
- Deliver exemplary after-sales service, ensuring that all guest complaints are addressed with the utmost seriousness and escalated to the appropriate departments when necessary
- Extend a professional welcome to key guests whom the Senior Sales Manager has personally engaged with during the sales process
- Conduct price negotiations with clients, employing strategic techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining client satisfaction
- Ensure the timely and formal confirmation of all verbal proposals in writing, maintaining a clear record of all agreements
- Implement a rigorous follow-up system for all complaints, ensuring that appropriate action is taken and resolutions are reached
- Consistently strive to achieve personal and team sales goals as assigned, recognizing the critical impact these targets have on the overall success of the organization
- Conduct thorough monitoring of competitors' activities and contribute significantly to market intelligence efforts, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making
- Engage in the sale of hotel room nights to new, existing, and prospective customers, aligning efforts with the established sales strategy and negotiating optimal rates to benefit the business
- Demonstrate unwavering adherence to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, and ensure their effective communication and implementation within the team
- Execute additional duties as assigned, recognizing the importance of flexibility and adaptability in meeting the evolving needs of the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is imperative
- A minimum of 5 years of extensive sales experience in an equivalent capacity is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in relationship building and new business acquisition, including prospecting, networking, conducting site inspections, and executing sales calls
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail are essential
- Commitment to staying informed of industry trends and disseminating critical information to all staff members
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- A proactive mindset is crucial for anticipating and supporting strategic changes in our business operations
