Job Description
The Sales Manager at Rixos Phu Quoc, Vietnam, is a critical role responsible for driving revenue growth and maintaining the hotel's market position. This position demands a strategic approach to sales, a keen understanding of the hospitality industry, and exceptional leadership skills.
Implement and oversee strategic initiatives to engage customers and tour operators through the most effective communication channels, both domestically and internationally, to maximize hotel sales at optimal price points.Conduct regular, formal consultations with general management regarding pricing strategies. Analyse competitor pricing, propose adjustments, and upon approval, disseminate new pricing structures through appropriate channels.Spearhead efforts to secure congress and meeting sales, with a particular focus on increasing occupancy during traditionally low-demand periods.Orchestrate the hotel's comprehensive sales strategy and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including official and private organisations, media outlets, and community leaders.Identify and cultivate new potential clientele, establishing clear, measurable targets and objectives to capitalize on these opportunities.Utilize direct sales channels to engage high-value customers and decision-makers.Conduct thorough competitive analysis, identifying strengths and weaknesses relative to competitor hotels. This includes in-depth research into their business potential, pricing policies, and customer acquisition strategies. Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management.Perform rigorous weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reviews of sales activities. Conduct comparative analyses of historical and current sales data to inform accurate forecasting.Formulate and implement comprehensive strategies for the upcoming fiscal year, ensuring all operations align with these strategic directives.Oversee the preparation and negotiation of future contracts, developing robust strategies to support these agreements.Maintain strict oversight of contract implementation and adherence.Conduct regular audits to ensure services delivered within the facility align precisely with catalogue descriptions.Develop and execute a comprehensive facility promotion strategy, including the creation of a strategic trade fair programme.Represent the hotel at relevant trade fairs and workshops, focusing on high-impact promotional activities.Provide close supervision of meeting group operations within the facility through dedicated sales representatives.Collaborate closely with the Accounting Department to ensure efficient collection of agency receivables.Deliver comprehensive monthly reports to senior management detailing the department's activities and performance metrics.Demonstrate unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability by: a. Anticipating and mitigating potential environmental impacts of all activities and equipment acquisitions.
b. Actively participating in initiatives to protect biodiversity.
c. Promoting environmental awareness through targeted training programmes.

Implement and enforce energy-saving protocols throughout the facility, including conducting necessary departmental training and ensuring compliance with energy conservation directives.Execute responsibilities related to proper waste management, reduction of environmental pollution, and mitigation of harmful environmental impacts.Ensure strict adherence to all quality management systems implemented within the facility.Undertake additional duties as assigned by management, recognizing that flexibility and adaptability are crucial in this dynamic role. Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in the related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
- Foreign Language: Fluent English and conversational Vietnamese. Additional Asian languages are advantageous.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office applications and hotel management software. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems is preferred.
- Skills: Good command in more than one area in the related field. Knowledge of competitors, the market and macroeconomic concepts. Sufficient level of experience related to the region worked in. Expected to foresee guest needs and expectations and carry out activities in this direction. Expert level knowledge of all related products and services.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies in the hospitality sector.
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to close high-value deals.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing market trends, sales data, and financial reports to inform decision-making.
- Networking: Excellent networking abilities and established relationships within the tourism and hospitality industry.
