Job Description For Multi- Hotel Payroll Officer

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated person to join our team as a Multi-Hotel Payroll Officer. Based out of Mercure Sydney, located in the heart of Sydney city and a 2-minute walk from Central train station.
Job Description
THE ROLE:
The Multi-Hotel Payroll Officer will be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient payroll services to the hotels in our Finance Hub and all team members involved. Additionally, the role involves participating in payroll-related projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist team members with payroll inquiries and address any payroll-related concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Managing and ensuring the integrity of data within the Ready Workforce (Zambion) and Employment Hero systems.
- Process wages based on approved hourly rates or salaries, including allowances, leave types, and deductions, using time and attendance data interfaced from the clock-in kiosk.
- Process final payments and accurately calculate termination payments.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with the National Employment Standards, including pay slips.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to department managers after each payroll cycle.
- Prepare and post fortnightly payroll journals and monthly accruals journals to the Sun System (accounting software).
- Submit audit reports to hotel accountants and financial controllers as needed.
- Process superannuation and PAYG through the payroll systems and report to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Complete end-of-financial-year payroll processes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Hospitality Industry & General Modern Award and the Hair and Beauty Award.
- Keep current with the Fair Work Australia National Employment Standards and other relevant regulations
Qualifications

- Proven experience in managing high-volume payroll processes.
- Proficient in the use of payroll software and systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to efficiently multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
