Job Description
As the Multi-Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing, you will provide strategic leadership to the sales and marketing teams across two premier properties, Mercure and Ibis Perth. This executive role is responsible for driving revenue growth, cultivating impactful relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that both hotels consistently outperform in highly competitive markets. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and delivering exceptional guest experiences, you will play a critical role in shaping the future success of these properties.
Core Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Develop and oversee strategic sales initiatives across all key market segments, including Airline, Corporate, MICE, Travel Management Companies, and Leisure accounts.
- Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, ensuring growth in revenue and market share.
- Manage high-value key accounts while mentoring the sales team to achieve performance excellence.
- Utilise data-driven insights from tools like STR reports and market analysis to maintain competitive positioning and optimise occupancy and RevPAR.
- Represent the hotels at key industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and forge strong client partnerships.
Marketing Strategy and Planning- Design and execute innovative, data-driven marketing plans aligned with the business objectives of both properties, with clear goals, budgets, and KPIs.
- Lead collaboration with external agencies, including advertising, PR, and media, to create and deploy impactful marketing campaigns.
- Regularly evaluate campaign performance and adapt strategies to ensure maximum ROI and market relevance.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to proactively adjust marketing and sales approaches.
Leadership and Team Development- Provide visionary leadership to the sales and marketing teams across both properties, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Establish clear goals, performance standards, and professional development pathways for team members.
- Act as an integral part of the executive leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction and operational excellence of both hotels.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local organisations and key stakeholders to drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Nurture strong relationships with internal departments and external partners, including travel agencies, corporate clients, and community organisations.
- Ensure smooth coordination between sales, marketing, and operations teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.
Operational Excellence- Leverage advanced sales and marketing tools, including Salesforce and Opera PMS, to track and manage performance.
- Monitor the effective resolution of client issues, ensuring sustained satisfaction and loyalty.
- Drive revenue while maintaining a strong return on investment through efficient cost management and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven track record of success in a senior sales and marketing leadership role, preferably within the hotel or hospitality sector.
- Extensive experience managing diverse market segments such as Airline, Corporate, MICE, and Leisure accounts.
- Advanced proficiency in sales and marketing systems, including Salesforce and Opera PMS, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with a results-oriented approach.
- Passionate about hospitality, with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
