Job Description
The Lead Registered Massage Therapist will work closely with the Spa Treatment Manager to foster the growth and development of the RMT team. This role includes a balance of administrative duties and hands-on therapeutic work, with 8-12 hours per 32-hour work week dedicated to administrative responsibilities.
Job Duties Include:
- Assist the Spa Treatment Manager with the growth and development of the RMT team.
- Anticipate to allocate 8-12 hours per 32-hour work week to administrative duties, with the remaining hours spent as a working therapist.
- Act as a role model by exemplifying spa and hotel values, positively influencing change in the workplace.
- Ensure the cleaning of treatment rooms, dispensary and storage area.
- Conduct performance reviews and one on one's with therapists to encourage their growth
- Ensure to train all the service providers on the treatments relevant to them.
- Ensure payroll, vacation & personal requests are handled in timely manner
- Ensure to provide thorough training to the new team members and familiarizing them with LQA standards.
- Anticipate in advance, all material and supplies and ensure their availability.
- Ensure all the service providers are aware of current promotions, policy changes and memorandums.
- Ensure staff maintains timing in relation to treatments to avoid any unnecessary delays.
- Ensure all the service providers provide a courteous and professional approach following the Spa LQA Standards.
- Responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, monthly inventories, storage and cost effective usage of all department related materials and assets according to standards to ensure smooth operations.
- Keep the team informed about the monthly budget and individual retail and service targets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Your Skills & Qualifications:- Previous experience in a Spa environment required
- Recognized certificate in Massage Therapy. 2,200 hours is required
- 2 - 4 years' experience in the field Massages required
- Current professional licenses
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
- Experience in the luxury hotel industry is an asset
- First Aid and CPR certification an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
