Job Description
As the Director of Marketing, you will be entrusted with the following critical responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the marketing budget, including forecasting, planning, and monitoring.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with local journalists, community leaders, institutions, and embassies.
- Compose and distribute press releases to local media regarding significant hotel news and events.
- Manage and respond to press inquiries about the hotel with utmost professionalism.
- Orchestrate and execute high-profile PR events.
- Provide exemplary care and attention to journalists during their stay at the hotel.
- Implement proactive PR measures to enhance the hotel's reputation.
- Oversee general PR administrative tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Develop and execute strategic marketing activities to support Rooms, F&B, and Banquet sales.
- Adhere strictly to company standards and maintain impeccable grooming at all times.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions as scheduled.
- Demonstrate unwavering cooperation and respect within the team and across departments.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of daily activities and all hotel facilities.
- Establish and regularly update a press database for the local market.
- Curate and maintain an extensive picture archive of the property, ensuring high-quality images are readily available.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date press kit and fact sheet for the hotel.
- Manage inventory of all marketing materials, including flyers, information packets, and brochures.
- Maintain access to Rixos press kit and all relevant group information.
- Systematically collect and archive press clippings.
- Liaise with the Corporate Public Relations Department for Rixos-related press inquiries.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local journalists through regular communication and strategic engagement.
- Foster connections with the local community, embassies, institutions, and administrations.
- Oversee the care of visiting journalists and VIPs during their hotel stay.
- Implement a strategic approach to press relations, including appropriate gifts, invitations, and visits.
- Plan, organize, and conduct follow-up for PR events, including press cocktails and lunches.
- Diligently maintain and enhance the hotel's image across all major online platforms.
- Ensure consistent and relevant information flow to hotel staff regarding Rixos news and updates.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager, Hotel Manager, and other Heads of Departments to maintain alignment on marketing initiatives.
- Contribute content for internal company publications via Corporate Public Relations.
- Facilitate cross-marketing efforts with other Rixos hotels.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Rixos group and its core values.
- Participate in the annual Public Relations workshop organized by Corporate Public Relations.
- Provide unwavering support to Corporate Public Relations across all required areas.
- Strictly adhere to all hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the handbook.
- Foster a work environment that promotes employee morale and instills departmental pride.
- Consistently project a professional image to customers and provide exceptional assistance with a prompt, caring, and helpful attitude.
- Anticipate customer needs to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate flexibility in assisting other areas of the Hotel in response to business and customer needs.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with the hotel's emergency procedures and remain prepared for any potential emergencies.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive yearly or half-yearly PR action plan and budget.
- Familiarize oneself with all relevant company documentation, particularly the Operational Standards pertinent to the role.
- Assume the responsibilities of Duty Manager when scheduled.
- Execute any additional duties as assigned by management.
- Participate in Task Force Teams for new property openings as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by senior management.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience in marketing, digital, or related professional area
- Proven track record of successful marketing campaigns in the hospitality industry
- Extensive experience in luxury or lifestyle hotel marketing
- Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing strategies, including social media and content marketing
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and revenue management principles
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and mentor a marketing team
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision making
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and CRM systems
- Experience in budget management and financial planning for marketing departments
- Strong network of industry contacts and relationships with key media outlets
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Willingness to travel and flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required
