The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership, functional guidance and valuable insights to Operations Leader, Partner, Executive Committee and Department Heads for optimal business decision; Interacting with hotel's legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business. The Director of Finance will be a highly motivated team player with strong accounting, communication, business presentation and analytical skills. Strong systems background needed.
This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the hotel while fostering a collaborative and high-performing finance team.

Strategic Leadership and Collaboration:
- Partner with the General Manager to achieve optimal performance and returns for Raffles and owners, focusing on KPIs.
- Develop and manage relationships with Management Committee members and senior managers to support short and long-term financial plans.
- Contribute to hotel business decisions on revenue generation, expenditure, and investment.
- Support the General Manager in maintaining a strong business relationship with the hotel owner.
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Review department financial performance, analyze variances, forecasts, and budgets, and recommend strategies to improve financial management.
- Provide accurate financial and management reports to hotel management, corporate office, and owners.
- Review and certify any hotel internal/external financial reporting before distribution and oversee the preparation of the hotel's yearly operating budget.
- - Ensure that the hotel holds all required licenses and permits to operate, as well as all insurances stipulated in the HMA
- Analyze and interpret financial data to advise on business operations.
- Manage all facets of the capital process, including fixed assets and depreciation tracking.
- Prepare a detailed analysis of Thropy's recent data, updated to reflect actual performance metrics. The information should ensure accuracy and relevance, covering key figures.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Uniform Chart of Accounts, and local fiscal regulations.
- Maintain proper permits and licenses for the hotel.
- Ensure internal controls are monitored and audited regularly.
- Maintain the safekeeping of all lease, contracts, and legal documents affecting the hotel's financial status.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Oversee daily operations of the Finance Department.
- Develop an engaged and service-driven finance team.
- Recruit, develop, and motivate team members to ensure top talent.
- Assist in preparing financial operating statements and reports in accordance with corporate policies and standard of prosedures regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
- Assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans based on audit and operational reports.
- Promote and maximize GOP Theoretical Flow Through across departments.
- Collaborates closely with the Talent & Culture and Revenue departments on forecasting and budgeting activities.
Technology and Systems Integration:
- Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and financial technology systems.
- Recommend and assist in designing methods and procedures to improve the accuracy of working schedules, labor standards, and forecasts.
Qualifications- Strong accounting, communication, business presentation, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in financial software (Excel, Opera, Micros).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting, and scheduling.
- Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial reporting standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, highly responsible, and reliable.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and focus on both guest and colleague needs.
- Service-focused personality.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Hospitality background, preferably in luxury.
- Essential team management experience.
- Strong problem-solving orientation.
- Minimum of 3 years of hotel finance experience, with previous finance experience at a management level.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross-trained group of progressive financial professionals.
