Job Description
- To develop and roll out robust Engineering - MEP/ HVAC, Fire and Life Safety design standards across all Brands.
- To develop and ensure the means where Engineering, Fire & Life Safety, IT support is provided to all Design Directors via Design review services for all new built, instant noodles + conversion/re-branding projects and major renovation projects.
- To develop a means to understand all regional statutory Health, Safety, Fire Codes and Security Regulations for SEAJSK region. Ensure that any tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and that records are maintained. Learn about all Local Building codes and relevant ordinance requirements for each Country in the SEAJSK Region, to ensure they meet our brand & product requirements and ensure that all comments are submitted for final approval.
- To coincide with the Accor Sustainability Department to assist with establishing water & energy reduction and sustainable objectives via our DTS Product & Brand Standards.
- To develop policies, procedures and workbook to enable a due diligence process to be carried out by Owner via DTS direction with a Third Party Professional Company to be nominated by DTS on existing hotels for instant noodles/conversions/rebranding by Accor Hotels in ensuring Civil, FLS and Engineering compliances.
- To support Hotel opening process to ensure all Fire & Life Safety, Engineering practices and procedures for new openings are in place and openings are more streamlined and efficient.
- To support Design Standards; to ensure that Design Directors can include Engineering Design Standards are effectively implemented for each project during the Design Stage and that they are followed up on during the construction by liaising regularly with the Regional Design & Technical Services Team Leader in Charge of the Project
- Required to travel widely for project meetings, site inspections and performing audits irregularly in operating hotels.
- To develop a comprehensive list of recommended, qualified Consultants and Contractors for Design & Technical Services and Owners use for all Regions.
- Assist T&C department to qualify suitable DoE or CE candidates for all pre-opening hotels. Provide oversight, advice, direction, and guidance through development of tools, systems and processes for new hotel openings in accordance with the Hotel Openings guidelines to be issued to DOE's or CE's and their engineering teams.
- Provide Pre-opening support through corporate engineering team on the following: Pre-Opening & Operations manual / Engineering department set up requirements with job descriptions and staffing levels
- Establishing engineering operation procedures, engineering check lists, plant logbooks and energy consumption recordings.
- Departmental Profit and Loss and Budgets (POMEC).
- Provide guidance and direction to the hotel management and DOE for the setting up of the hotel technical operations, property inspection, snagging and defecting and warranty issues.
- Engineering system testing & commissioning, acceptance and take over procedures.
- Provide advice and procedures for establishing engineering programs such as work request system, preventative maintenance, planned preventative maintenance of guestrooms, fire protection maintenance, engineering annual self-audits and POMEC filing system.
- Computer Aided Maintenance Management (CAMM) ordering, data collection and data input.
- Assist DOE or CE with requirements for training of the hotel's engineering team concerning the engineering policies, procedures and programs.
- To mentor, coach, and provide advice and assistance as necessary to enable the DOE to take of full responsibility of the engineering operations.
- Provide advice to DOE or CE for purchasing of the required engineering FF&E.
- Assist in establishing energy management initiatives and sound environmental policies and programs.
- Assist to ensure Health and Safety practices are being implemented in accordance with corporate programs and local laws.
- Liaise with Openings team on completion of areas and hand over dates for completion.
- To develop comprehensive succession planning and mentoring programme for new and existing engineering colleagues within SEAJSK PME properties.
- To develop and implement systems, processes and procedures to ensure hotel engineering operations are innovative, cost effective and efficient and that these are standardised across the region with adequate checks and balances.
- To provide a continuity platform for hotel engineers and ensure they are properly trained with the knowledge and skills required for an efficient operation and advancement within the organisation to ensure career development and organic growth.
- To support and roll out comprehensive Pre-opening Engineering Manual. (Efficient openings)
- Support and roll out an Engineering Department Critical Path that is effective and efficient. (Efficient openings)
- To develop and roll out global maintenance standards to ensure owners assets are properly maintained. (Asset protection)
- Support and roll out new policies and processes for engineering cost control. (Cost saving)
- Hold ALL property Engineers accountable for energy and water reduction to meet benchmarks with the full support of the Hotel General Manager.
- Hold Engineers responsible for ensuring the maintenance of records and for ensuring regular reporting of performance against the Environmental objectives with the full support of the Hotel General Manager.
- Support Policies and Procedures to ensure all Hotels adhere to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures for each project.
- Support and roll out policies and procedures to ensure that all Hotels ensure that any tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and that records are maintained.
- Support and roll out policies and procedures to ensure that all Hotels are aware of all local Building codes, regulations and relevant ordinance requirements, to ensure they meet our requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering, preferably with specialize on Electro-Mechanical Engineering with Building MEP System Design and Built Experiences.
- Experiences 10-15 years in the field of Electro-Mechanical Engineering and MEP design in the hospitality industry.
- Architectural design related software such as RIVIT or AutoCad skilled.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all related engineering design codes/ regulations. Managing projects/ budgets; checking quality and accuracy of work generated by fellow team members will be part of your job description.
- English Spoken and Written is a required professional proficiency for this role.
- Project Management software and Maintenance and materials management software skilled.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.
