Job Description For Cluster Director of Purchasing

Company Description
We are looking for a Cluster Director of Purchasing to lead theprocurement operations across multiple properties. This role plays a pivotal role in procurement strategy, ensuring cost efficiencies, operational excellence, and the timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services across all locations.
As a senior procurement leader, you will oversee procurement activities, support operational teams, and ensure compliance across all properties. Building strong working relationships with the Managing Director of Raffles and Fairmont Red sea, General Managers and operational teams of the cluster will be essential to driving procurement performance, efficiency, and compliance.
Job Description
Procurement Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the overall business goals of each property within the cluster.
- Provide procurement leadership and guidance to the Managing Director, General Managers, Resort Manager, Executive Committees, and operational teams.
- Ensure that procurement policies, procedures, and controls are implemented and adhered to across all properties.
- Coordinate procurement activities with Red Sea Global under the shared supply chain service, ensuring seamless integration of storage and purchasing processes while maintaining brand standards and quality expectations.
- Work closely with Red Sea Global to optimize procurement efficiency, leveraging their storage facilities for designated inventory items without compromising operational requirements or brand specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment between Red Sea Global's procurement strategy and the property's purchasing needs, maintaining brand identity, consistency, and service excellence.
Supplier Management- Identify and establish relationships with key suppliers to ensure the best value and quality for goods and services.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and service excellence.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability and quality.
- Lead initiatives in ethical purchasing, ensuring suppliers adhere to fair trade, labor rights, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles.
- Drive sustainability efforts by sourcing eco-friendly products, reducing waste, and implementing responsible procurement practices.
Cost Control and Efficiency- Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize procurement efficiency and ensure financial sustainability across the properties of the cluster.
- Collaborate with Operational teams, Resort Manager, and General Managers to identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline procurement processes.
- Monitor and manage procurement performance indicators, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
Compliance and Risk Management- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and corporate procurement regulations and policies.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, implementing appropriate controls and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
Inventory Management- Oversee inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Implement inventory control systems to track and manage stock levels, reducing the risk of stockouts and overstocking.
- Collaborate with operational teams to forecast demand and ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
- Manage the procurement process for items sourced through Red Sea Global, ensuring automatic coordination where applicable, while maintaining oversight of property-specific purchases to uphold brand standards and quality.
- Ensure storage facilities under Red Sea Global procurement are utilized effectively, maintaining clear communication on inventory levels, replenishment schedules, and operational requirements without disrupting property-specific operational demands.
- Collaborate with Red Sea Global to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes while balancing cost efficiency, brand-specific quality expectations, and operational effectiveness.
Team Leadership and Development- Lead and mentor the procurement teams across the properties, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Provide training and support to ensure the procurement teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; CPP or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Purchasing or equivalent role in a multi-property or cluster environment, preferably within luxury hospitality.
- Proven track record of procurement leadership in a fast-paced, international hospitality environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex procurement data.
- Experience working across multiple properties with distinct procurement needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
