Job Description
Busperson, Hawthorn Restaurant & Bar (Part-time) Exceptional service and cuisine are hallmarks of Fairmont Palliser. As Busperson, you will take pride in the integral role you play in supporting your Food & Beverage Colleagues and "setting the stage" for a truly memorable meal.
- To welcome our guests into the restaurant with a pleasant greeting, ensuring their experience exceeds their expectations through attentive, personal service.
- To follow all Restaurant and hotel policies, procedures and service standards, including LQA and Sequence of Service.
- Must maintain detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menus, food and beverage pairings, current promotions and specials and awareness of what vendors provide our food and beverage products to showcase out local-first approach to our guests.
- Assist Restaurant Servers in all aspects of the dining experience, including the delivering and clearing of food and beverage items from guest tables when required.
- Assist Bartenders in the preparation, set-up and on-going stocking of all bar and beverage service areas, including acting as a Bar Back during high volume periods.
- Ensure all heart of house areas and service stations are kept clean, tidy and stocked for service.
- Complete assigned side duties/tasks on a daily basis to ensure all team members are set-up for success.
- Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Must be available to work a variety of days/shifts, according to business needs and seniority level.
- Execute all other duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager or their designate.
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:- Previous hospitality/restaurant service experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
