Your Day to Day
In a nutshell as a Front Office Intern, you will get to absorb all the real experience like you are a Guest Service Agent! (Receptionist) You will receive a training plan for the time that you are here which will be discussed further with the Learning & Quality Manager. Additionally, the following tasks as a Front Office Intern will include:
· You will always represent the Front Office department in a professional and courteous manner with all guests & colleague interactions, be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience.
· You will perform the shift checklist to ensure accuracy of all aspect of shifts.
· You will ensure that all booking details are recorded accurately, ensuring that billing instructions are clarified, updating the guest folio and balancing all transactions at the end of every shift.
· Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs – record and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concern.
· Deliver a memorable experience to guests with a swift and personal service – not forgetting to recognize and record guest preferences.
· Resolve guest issues and use their feedback to improve guest satisfaction.
· Collate and share local insights to meet guest requests i.e. sporting events, places of interest and local restaurants.
· Make great guest relationships in a very short space of time.
· Contribute to hotel revenues – e.g. through tour and transportation bookings.
· Promote the hotel’s other businesses such as food, drink and Spas at every opportune moment. Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and loop in management when necessary.
· Stay safe all the time. Following our safety procedures, you’ll report all incidents and wear any protective gear needed.
· Take pride in your appearance and place as a brand ambassador.
· Always know what events and activities are on the day’s schedule.
· Jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help.
· Support any needs at the bell stand or the door while ensuring the lobby areas look great.
· Demonstrate daily guest discretion, ethical behaviour, privacy and confidentiality.
· Effortlessly meet the diverse cultural needs of guests from around the world.
