Your Day to Day
In a nutshell as F&B Intern, you will get to learn all the elements of this department as a beginner! We like to see our interns as full-time employees and therefore your duties will be just like an F&B Server. You will receive a training plan for the time that you are here which will be discussed further with the Learning & Quality Manager. Additionally, the following tasks as a F&B Intern will include:
· Ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are always demonstrated.
· Communicate with your superior any difficulties, guest comment and other relevant information to resolve any difficulty in the best way possible.
· Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships, attend and participate in daily briefings, trainings and other meetings as scheduled.
· Prepare in advance food, beverage, material and equipment needed for the service, constantly keep updated with all food and beverage knowledge necessary within the department and clean and re-set his/her working area.
· Look smart and crisp – wear your smile, stride and uniform with pride.
· To have detailed knowledge about each food and beverage item that the venue offers and to be able to promote and upsell it to all our guests.
· Upsell the menu and influence guests to select higher than medium priced items and side orders: soup, beverage, salad, dessert, etc. to increase the revenue. Achieve sales targets.
· To ensure that you follow your supervisors/ manager’s direction to learn.
· To attend all briefing and meetings as scheduled by managers or supervisor.
· Consistently deliver unscripted and personalized service. Connect with guests’ passions and create memorable experiences.
· Remember guests are always your priority in any aspect of your work.
· Be welcoming and always go the extra mile - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs a toothbrush or directions to the nearest Italian Restaurant for example.
· Maintain high visibility ‘on the floor’ and provide assistance to our guests proactively.
· To know, understand and always follow department policies and procedures.
· To ensure that you know and adhere to the restaurant’s sequences of service.
