Position Description:
We are looking for SECURITY OFFICER for SAGA cruises - vessel TBC
Required: minimum 1 year experience as such on board cruise ships, valid STCW certificates, valid SSO ( Ship Security Officer ) Certificate.
Contract: 3 months +/-1
Embarkation: in May 2025
Organization
Reports to Staff Captain and the Master as assigned.
Authority
Delegated authority by the Master to execute assigned responsibilities as the ship's Security
Supervisor.
Functions and Responsibility
• To execute security watches and security / Safety training duties.
• To execute watches as gangway while in port / anchor.
• To familiarize himself with the latest safety requirements and work procedures
• Development and preparation of security instruction material.
• Provision of guidance and material to the HSE Committee.
• Ship specific security and safety training and guidance for all new and returning crewmembers
• Routine inspection of security equipment.
• Planning and executing of all security watches according to the vessels ISPS procedures
• Security screening of embarking baggage
• Inspection of crew baggage prior to their leaving the vessel for vacation.
• Assist the Safety Officer regarding planning and arranging of weekly emergency drills for all ship's crew.
• Ensure that all security equipment is operational and properly maintained and stowed.
• In liaison with the SSO, ensure expanded security watch when required according to the ISPS
procedures
• Ensure that Company regulations are followed. Any violations of such shall be handled immediately and
reported to the Master or Staff Captain.
• Undertake regular security inspection.
• Be familiar with the necessary procedures in the ship Security Plan, cleared by the SSO.
• Ensure that the security arrangements and Ship Security Threat Level are in place prior to the ship's
arrival in any location.
