The Vessel REV Ocean is unlike any other ship. It is equipped with some of the most sophisticated facilities onboard for carrying out cutting-edge ocean science, as well as offering charter opportunities designed to integrate exploration, adventure, and science. REV Ocean will operate as a research vessel for 2/3 of the year and be available for charters for 1/3 of the year.

The motorman/oiler is part of the Engineering Department on board REV. This role carries out planned and routine maintenance tasks and cleaning of machinery parts as directed and assists the EOW as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Support the Captain to achieve REV Objectives (safety, quality and environmental).
• Support the Captain in ensuring the ship's compliance with company policies and procedures as well as international, state, or local maritime regulations.
• Support the Captain in ensuring the ship's compliance with International Safety Management (ISM), classification society rules, and Maritime Insurance, within his/her area of responsibility.
• Be familiar with all emergency procedures and duties. Assist in emergency situations as required and or instructed.
• Partake in emergency drills and training as and when required.
• Be aware of QHSE in all tasks and operations and report any issues, discrepancies, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Bridge.
• Assist the Chief Engineer and EOW in maintaining orderly, tidy, and clean engineer room and engineering spaces.
• Report any damages, irregularities, deficiencies and or issues to the on-duty engineer.
• Follow daily schedules, planned maintenance requirements and unplanned tasks as directed and required.
• Report any damages, irregularities, deficiencies and or issues to the on-duty engineer/ your supervisor.
• Inform the Chief Engineer/ on-duty engineer of any consumables or spare parts used and identify procurement requirements.
• Comply with health and safety procedures and protocols.
• Maintenance and cleaning duties in the Engine room spaces.
• Assist the Chief Engineer and EOW as and when required in other duties.
