Position Description:

We are currently searching for an experienced Chief Purser to join the Hebridean/Island Sky cruise vessels.

The MS Hebridean Sky and MS Island Sky are sister vessels, the 118-passenger, all-suite vessels are one of the finest small ships in the world and benefits from unusually spacious accommodation, public areas and outside decks.

The Chief Purser will oversee the work of Guest Service personnel (receptionists) and Purser. He/she will be responsible for all financial reporting, as well as all cash operations and training on-board. Further to this, all clearance matters, immigration requirements and check-in procedures will be managed by the Chief Purser. Lastly, the Chief Purser will be responsible for resolving any guest issues as escalated by different departments. Any issues not solvable on-board, will be escalated to the Voyage Director and shore side Guest Relations department according to procedure. Ensuring a successful operation from the Chief Purser's side will require effective leadership and coaching on-board, as well as clear communication with the various shore-side and shipboard departments.

You must have a strong leadership skills and practice "leadership by example" Ability to work with international crew. Professional appearance and excellent social skills.

You are resposible to implements strategies to achieve service goals; Ensures that all guest requests, inquiries and complaints are responded to promptly; Oversees the activities of the entire hotel department; Ensures necessary maintenance and repairs; Maintains guidelines, policies, procedures and training practices set by the corporate office Maintenance of the Hotel Operation Manual

Education/Experience:

Degree in Hospitality Management. Strong F&B Background Shipboard experience, good exposure to leading a team. Will also have a strong land based managerial background in a luxury environment.

Computer Skills:

Computer knowledge; Word, Excel, Fidelio

Language Requirement:

Fluent English. Preferably 1 additional language; German, French, Italian or Spanish
