Shangri-La Abu Dhabi Announces the Appointment of Chef Domenico Nicolino
Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi welcomes a new Executive Sous Chef
(Abu Dhabi, 26 September 2022) Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi announced the appointment of new Executive Sous Chef, Domenico Nicolino who brings with him over 17 years of culinary experience. His career as a chef has seen Domenico travel across the globe from London to Perth as well as multiple posts in his native Italy, now settling in Abu Dhabi having accrued an abundance of culinary expertise. Chef Nicolino will play a major role in supporting Executive Chef Nikolaos Tsimidakis in ensuring the efficiency of his team as well as bringing new and exciting food concepts that will surely be enjoyed by patrons.
Domenico's career highlights are plentiful. However, his roles at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, one of which being at Roka, London, as well as stints at the Armani restaurant in Munich and his experience at Relais and Chateaux, stand out. Chef Nicolino's genuine love for travel is only matched by his devotion to culinary excellence. His adventures around the world have no doubt strengthened his scope of skills whilst fuelling a passion for sourcing the freshest and most seasonal produce.
Chef Nicolino had the following to say upon his appointment: "I am immensely excited to join the Shangri-La group and help further what is already an exciting setup here in Abu Dhabi. I will be supporting Chef Nikolaos and the team to consistently deliver high-quality service while ensuring that we provide impactful guest experiences through a collection of novel culinary concepts."
Domenico's first major project will be overseeing the reopening of Bord Eau restaurant, much loved by foodies in Abu Dhabi over the years. The restaurant in recent times has been home to several Michelin-starred pop-ups and monthly wine dinners, however, it will return to regular operations in late October.
