Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 22 April 2024 - NH Collection Dubai The Palm is delighted to announce the appointment of Chef Ajinkya Soundankar (AJ) to the culinary team. With almost twenty years of culinary experience, especially excelling as a pastry chef, Chef AJ brings his outstanding skills to this new hotel on the Palm.
A graduate of both The Culinary Institute of America in New York and The Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in India, Chef AJ refined his talents at renowned establishments like Hotel Leela Kempinski in Mumbai and Turning Stone Casino Resort in New York. His remarkable career has led him to culinary hubs such as Las Vegas, Bangkok, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, where he contributed to award-winning teams.
Throughout his career, Chef AJ has earned recognitions such as an AAA Four Diamond rating, The Best Seafood Restaurant (by LA Weekly), Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants (San Pellegrino), and the first ISO 22000 certification for a Green Luxury Hotel kitchen. Notably, he has pioneered innovative concepts like the German Bakery Bar in Abu Dhabi and the revamping and introduction of Mocha & Muffins in Bangkok.
Chef AJ first joined the Anantara family in 2018 at Anantara Siam Bangkok as Executive Pastry Chef, overseeing kitchen activities and leading special events like the Janice Wong Chocolate High Tea. His diverse cultural background and extensive experience are set to enhance our team and thrill all our guests.
