2021 marks the beginning of the Year of the Ox and Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is offering an authentic feast for family and friends to celebrate Chinese New Year by the picturesque banks of the Ping River.
As with most holidays, the food traditionally eaten during Chinese New Year holds symbolic meanings and Anantara Chiang Mais menu has been carefully crafted by the resorts resident Chinese chef PingLiu offering all the trimmings to wish guests good luck in the coming New Lunar Year.
Hailing from Emeishan City, in Chinas Sichuan Province Chef PingLiu has been cooking his authentic cuisine in some of Chinas finest hotels and restaurants for over 20 years and he has crafted a very special menu with Sichuan, Cantonese and traditional Chinese favourites.
Chef PingLius menu consists of old family recipes from his hometown including Benben Chicken, Szechuan Sea Bass Soup and Sichuan Stir Fried Abalone. Guest can also feast on Chinese Roast Duck, Spicy Seafood Hot Pot, Stewed Birds Nest with Yangzhi Nectar, Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs and Lobster Cakes.
