Pitak ‘Chin’ Norathepkitti Joins An Award Winning Property in Chiang Mai
Pitak ‘Chin’ Norathepkitti appointed General Manager of Anantara Chiang Mai Resort
Anantara has appointed an experienced hotelier, Pitak ‘Chin’ Norathepkitti as General Manager of Anantara Chiang Mai Resort. This role will see Mr. Norathepkitti at the helm of one of the brand’s international award-winning properties.
Mr. Norathepkitti, a Thai national, who holds a Master of Arts in Tourism joins Anantara Chiang Mai from Siem Reap in Cambodia where he oversaw Anantara Angkor Resort for the last two years. Prior to Anantara, Norathepkitti rose through the ranks to become Cluster General Manager at Sofitel Luang Prabang and 3 Nagas Luang Prabang, Laos.
Previously, Mr. Norathepkitti held various executive management roles at some of the most respected and storied luxury hotels in his hometown of Bangkok. His wealth of experience across many hospitality sectors such as hospitality management and commercial operations equips him with a holistic approach to hotelkeeping and forms the basis of his intrinsic understanding of all elements of the industry.
Designed by legendary architect Kerry Hill, Anantara Chiang Mai is conveniently located on the banks of the Mae Ping River, giving easy access for guests to explore the temple-filled old city, Lanna heritage, artisan villages, and mountain hill tribes. The resort’s centerpiece, the stunning colonial house, was once the British Consulate of Chiang Mai. The house is now The Service 1921 Restaurant and Bar, charming guests with a British secret intelligence concept, complete with secret dining rooms, a dungeon, and a fusion of culinary journeys full of mystery and intrigue.
Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has been voted Thailand’s #1 resort for the last two years by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler US and UK Readers’ Choice Awards and was recently listed as one of the world’s top 500 resorts by Travel and Leisure Magazine.
With his extensive knowledge and experience of the local and international market, Mr. Norathepkitti is well placed to continue the success of the resort and will oversee an extensive refurbishment and implement new dining and spa concepts. Commenting on his appointment, he said, “I am incredibly excited by this new appointment at Anantara’s beautiful flagship resort in Chiang Mai. I look forward to working closely with the team to deliver outstanding northern Thai hospitality and will continue to build on its position as one of the destination’s leading resorts.”
