Anand Nair Returns to InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort
We are thrilled to announce the return of Anand Nair as the General Manager of InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort. With over 29 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Anand brings expertise in managing both Business and Leisure hotel portfolios.
Anand is renowned for his acute business strategy, competitive market stabilization, and a proven track record of year-on-year profitable business growth. He is recognized as a highly motivated and dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the business and luxury market.
Anand joined IHG South West Asia in 2018 as General Manager and most recently served in the same capacity at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park. He started his career as a Management Trainee with the Leela Group of hotels and has since held leadership roles in Food & Beverage at various prestigious properties of The Leela and The Taj Group of Hotels in India and Sri Lanka. Anand then joined Sarovar Hotels and Resorts as a General Manager, where he successfully launched the award-winning Vasundhara Sarovar Premiere hotel in 2010. He continued to grow the brand until 2018, receiving the GM of the Year award twice. During the pandemic, Anand managed the operations of The Intercontinental Chennai and The Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park before focusing on Crowne Plaza for the next 3 years. His efforts led to significant milestones at the property, earning him the General Manager of the Year (Owner’s Impact Award) in 2023, competing against over 185 IHG branded properties in India, the Middle East, and Africa.
In his new role, Anand will oversee the complete operations and management of the resort, ensuring the highest levels of guest engagement, profitability, and continuing to build on the positioning and reputation of InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort. He is set to lead us into an exciting new chapter. His leadership style, coupled with his passion for excellence, promises to inspire us all to new heights of success.
