Job Description For Assistant Sales Manager - LEISURE

The Assistant Sales Manager - Leisure is responsible for assisting the Sales Manager in driving leisure segment revenue by actively selling and promoting the hotel’s leisure offerings. This role requires the management of relationships with travel agents, tour operators, and other key accounts to generate business for the hotel. The candidate will be expected to implement sales strategies, meet revenue targets, and contribute to maximizing hotel occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Business Development:

  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the leisure segment.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with travel agents, tour operators, and other leisure accounts.
  • Participate in sales presentations, trade shows, and promotional activities to generate new business.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with key leisure accounts, ensuring the hotel’s competitive advantage.

• Account Management:

  • Manage existing leisure accounts by maintaining strong communication and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, and presentations to promote the hotel's leisure offerings.
  • Ensure all bookings and contracts are accurately handled and updated in the hotel’s CRM system.

• Revenue Generation:

  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to achieve revenue targets and optimize sales strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust sales tactics accordingly.
  • Contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes by providing key insights on the leisure market.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other hotel departments such as Front Office, Reservations, and Marketing to ensure seamless guest experiences and effective promotional activities.
  • Assist in training junior sales staff in leisure segment strategies and best practices.

• Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular sales reports and analysis, tracking progress against targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis, customer feedback, and sales performance data.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, preferably within the leisure segment.
• Strong understanding of the leisure market, travel agencies, tour operators, and online travel agents (OTAs).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and hotel property management systems (PMS).
• Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to travel for sales calls, trade shows, and client meetings as needed.
• Availability to work outside standard business hours when necessary.
