A feast of nine courses serviced on a traditional banana leaf
The Malayalee Association of Two Seasons Hotel & Apartments very well-organized the Onam celebrations with a huge preparation of traditional Onam Sadhya, a feast of nine courses serviced on a traditional banana leaf and made a large floral decoration ‘Pookalam’ in the entrance of lobby and staff cafeteria. Freddy Farid, Managing Director of Two Seasons Hotel Management LLC did the lamp lighting ceremony and said, “May this festival of Onam bring prosperity, unity and happiness to everyone”.
Onam is celebrated by the state of Kerala with joy and enthusiasm all over the state by people of all communities. The harvest festival is based on the myth of the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali and is celebrated over ten days with much fervour and revelry. Onam is celebrated in the beginning of the month of Chingam, the first month of Malayalam calendar which corresponds with the month of August-September according to the Gregorian Calendar. A time for family get-togethers, prayers, feasts, songs and traditional dances, Onam shows off Kerala at its cultural best.
