Triple Victories for Four Points by Sheraton at the Middle East Hozpitality Excellence Awards 2019
Purani Dilli, Sathyababu Thankappan & Nasif Latheef
Situated close to the city’s traditional roots and towering skyscrapers of the city, Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai is connected to the heart of Dubai’s historic district. The hotel is strategically placed to ensure ease of business and exploration and is home to the popular authentic Indian restaurant, Purani Dilli. At the recent iteration of Middle East Hozpitality Excellence Awards, Purani Dilli won the “Restaurant of the Year (Indian)” award.
Purani Dilli is among the few restaurants in Dubai that has its roots in the culinary heritage of some of the most flourishing dynasties and empires of the world. Prior to Purani Dilli’s opening, the culinary team invested months to ensure that every dish exhibits a perfect balance of flavours and aromas so that guests feel like royalty each time they visit Purani Dilli. The restaurant’s dining philosophy is deeply influenced by authentic delicacies of Delhi and any diner who’s dined in the busy by-lanes of India’s capital city will instantly relate to the flavoursome fare served at the restaurant. Purani Dilli’s menu borrows its flavours from the legendary kitchens of the Mughals, and every dish employs the use of distinct home-ground spices, which helps impart that rich, inimitable flavour.
Adding to its winning streak, the hotel’s team took home two more prestigious accolades at the Middle East Hozpitality Excellence Awards. Sathyababu Thankappan, Cluster Purchasing Manager for both Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai and Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road won Gold. Operating in a market with stiff competition and high costs, Sathyababu, however, makes his work look effortless and uses his 14 years of experience in Purchasing to always ensure all goods are purchased at the right price. Nasif Latheef, IT Assistant Manager also won Gold and is the resident multi-tasker for all things IT-related at both the properties. Selflessly working above and beyond the call of duty, he is responsible for safeguarding the property’s valuable data through extensive firewalls and has worked round-the-clock, on multiple occasions, to fortify the IT infrastructure for both hotels.
With over 1000 candidates competing in different categories, winners for each category at the prestigious Middle East Hozpitality Excellence Awards are acknowledged for their outstanding achievement in quality, innovation and service.
