The international borders of Maldives have been reopened to all tourists since 15 July 2020. Travellers will be given 30-day tourist visas on arrival and must have a valid resort booking.
Arrival to Maldives
A health declaration card must be completed 24-hours prior travelling to the Maldives and all passengers will go through thermal screening upon arrival in Male at Velana International Airport. The Health Declaration can be submitted electronically viahttp://imuga.immigration.gov.mv. The Maldives government requires all travellers to wear a face mask at the airport, during domestic travel and in enclosed public spaces.
Safety Hygiene Practices at The Residence Maldives
The safety and wellbeing of guests and staff remains of utmost importance to the team. They have rolled out a host of safety and hygiene precautions at the resort which includes, but not limited to, daily temperature taking of staff, sanitising of villas before each arrival and high-touch areas around the resort on a regular basis. The measures implemented at The Residence Maldives are part of the Health and Safety Plan in accordance to the Ministry of Tourism's "Guideline for Restarting Tourism in Maldives" and Maldives's Health Protection Agency's "Public Health Intervention to prevent COVID-19 Transmission in the Tourism Sector". On meeting the airport representative in Male, each guest will be given a Care Pack that consists of two surgical face masks, two pairs of gloves, a 65-ml bottle of anti-septic hand sanitiser, four packets of antibacterial hand wipes. Additionally, The Residence Maldives is continuously monitoring the situation and are in contact with the health authorities for regular updates from the Maldives government.
PCR Testing for Travellers
Should guests require a PCR test on departure, a sample swab needs to be collected by the in-house doctor 96 hours prior to departure in order for the laboratories to process the results on time. A copy of the travel itinerary and other items requested by the testing lab will also need to be provided. PCR testing will be chargeable at USD 150 nett per person. Guests who require testing for departure should inform the resort on-arrival to make the arrangements.
Cancellation Policy
For all current and new bookings (from 11 March 2020), The Residence Maldives will allow change of new dates and travel up to 31 March 2021 without a change in rates (supplements will apply for festive stay and gala dinners). All cancellations must be sent to the Resort via email or fax.
The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi Closed for Maintenance
The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi will remain closed until 31 January 2021 to undertake enhancement and maintenance works around the resort with the installation and connection of new renewable power systems to the existing power grids.
