The Atlantic Hotel & Spa Announces Society 8 Hospitality Group as Partner for Hotel’s Flagship Restaurant
The new offerings highlight Coastal’s focus on a local Golden Coast ambiance with Italian-Mediterranean touches.
Fort Lauderdale’s The Atlantic Hotel & Spa announced today a partnership with South-Florida based full-service restaurant and nightlife company Society 8 Hospitality Group to revamp the concept of its in-house Mediterranean beachfront restaurant, Coastal and engage the local community. Society 8 is returning to the hotel two years after a successful partnership on The Atlantic’s previous restaurant concept, Beauty and the Feast.
Coinciding with the first anniversary of Coastal this November, Society 8 will manage the restaurant as it debuts new menu items and a specialized holiday event lineup. The new offerings highlight Coastal’s focus on a local Golden Coast ambiance with Italian-Mediterranean touches. The Hospitality Group will have a strong focus on creating local-friendly experiences to draw the Fort Lauderdale crowd to the beach including events, social menus, partnerships, special prices, and local happenings. The group also plans to revive the restaurant’s popular Boozy Brunch later this year, followed by a new restaurant concept in 2019.
“As our hospitality concept evolves, Society 8 brings fresh ideas that will continue to demonstrate our commitment to authenticity and excellence,” said Asset Manager/Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Jarrett.
In addition to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners, Coastal’s unique holiday calendar explores fun customs like ‘Feast of the Seven Fishes,’ an Italian Christmas Eve tradition with more than a dozen seafood dishes; a glamorous New Year’s Eve Gala; and The Atlantic’s third annual ‘Polar Bear Plunge,’ a New Year’s morning plunge which encourages revelers to literally wash off the last year by jumping into the ocean in the previous night’s outfit, followed by a casual brunch.
“More than a restaurant, Coastal is a thriving community bringing locals and tourists together in a venue like no other in Fort Lauderdale. With our understanding of the community, we aim to create a space that goes beyond just special occasions and is bustling with unique experiences that locals want to be part of,” said Steven Dapuzzo, director of Society 8 Hospitality Group.
Society 8 aims to bring in a following beyond beachgoers, inviting South Florida residents to experience local hospitality in a globally inspired atmosphere. Coastal also offers meeting spaces, luncheons, social gatherings and events.
