Temple’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management Commits to Alumni Success
STHM Connections is an online career support center for alumni and is a first-of-its-kind service at Temple
PHILADELPHIA —The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) is driving alumni career development to new heights through STHM Connections, an online career support platform that is the first-of-its-kind at the individual school level at Temple University.
STHM Connections provides alumni specific free access to networking, mentorship, leadership development, resume critiquing and other professional development tools on a level that has not previously been offered by a college or school at Temple University.
“We are lifelong partners for our alumni and this allows us to support them as they advance in their careers,” says Jeremy Jordan, associate dean of STHM. “It helps them advance in their professional life and grow as an individual. It enhances our profile as a school that educated exceptional professionals. And accentuates the family-like ecosphere that exists between our faculty, staff and alumni.”
The STHM Connections initiative includes an online alumni networking platform that brings together entry-level alumni and experienced industry professionals. The platform can be used to create both structured and informal peer mentoring groups that are specific to the niche industries of sport, tourism and hospitality.
Structured alumni career coaching will be available to STHM graduates for up to 18 months post-graduation. The school will also host the Next Phase in Your Career professional development series, leadership development training sessions and Alumni Employer Meet & Greet events on-campus and online.
