A Culinary Visionary: Tarryn-Leigh's Entrepreneurial Triumph
Tarryn-Leigh Green, Chef & Owner of Nyum Meals, was awarded the prestigious Judges Choice award for Entrepreneur Chef of the Year at the 7th Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2024. The grand ceremony, orchestrated by Hozpitality Group, unfolded on June 7 at JW Marriott Dubai Marina, marking a pivotal moment in the region's culinary landscape. Andy Cuthbert, President of the Emirates Culinary Guild, presented the award, along with the judges from ECG and Raj Bhatt.
Tarryn-Leigh Green is an innovative entrepreneur based in the United Arab Emirates who embarked on the journey to establish her own business during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her vision and collaboration with business partner Warren Bond resulted in the creation of Nyum Meals. This venture fulfilled her dreams and set a new standard for premium-quality, ready-to-heat meals in the UAE.
Her passion for the culinary arts began early in her life, leading her to qualify as a chef from The Institute of Culinary Arts. Tarryn-Leigh pursued a career as a development chef and product developer, working with renowned brands such as Fortnum & Mason, Bakkavor, and Charlie Bigham. She oversaw accounts and private label development for some of the UK's leading retailers, including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Lidl, and Asda. Additionally, she contributed to the culinary landscape of popular food chains such as Pret a Manger, Carluccio's, Itsu, and Wagamama's.
Regionally, Tarryn-Leigh worked at HMS Host Autogrill, developing new restaurant concepts, liaising with restaurant franchises, crafting menus, and training staff. Her extensive experience and entrepreneurial spirit have made her a prominent culinary industry figure driving innovation and excellence.
