Hotel & restaurant review written by Vandana Bhatt
We are the witnesses of Dubai’s gigantic growth in the last 10 years. Dubai doesn’t stop to amaze me, every year, there is something new, a new development, a new world record, something extraordinary. Jumeirah Beach Residences aka JBR is one of those, it was just about when the Palm island was planned on Dubai’s map. JBR is located at the shores of the Arabian Gulf with the incredible views of the Palm island on one side and Marina on the other. A lot of development has been done since 2008, a lot of new hotels have made their abode on the shores of the gulf to provide tourists the beach destination. When we talk about Dubai hotels, we talk about luxury and top-class services.
Last weekend, we had an opportunity to stay in one of those hotels at the JBR. Delta Hotels by Marriott has just opened its doors for the public. Marriott, the brands speaks for itself, the renowned name in the hotel industry. The hotel’s 45 storey tower houses 360 comfortable and stylish rooms, offering a range of room types including suites and serviced apartments, each equipped with premium amenities to cater to the needs of short- and long-term guests. The beach is just a few steps away through the first shopping promenade of Dubai, The JBR walk. JBR walk is full of entertainment, world-class eateries and many activities for kids and families make it a necessary landmark for all the tourists visiting Dubai. The sunset from JBR is a must and not to be missed.
We checked in to a duplex at the 42nd floor with spectacular views of Marina and the ocean, the spacious living and dining space, along with an equipped open kitchen added to the excitement. The duplex had the separate master bedrooms on top and 2 full bathrooms, extra beds can be set up depending on your requirement. A large fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cutleries, pots and pans, coffee machine. It had everything required by the family on the vacation.
We were there just for a night so there were no plans for cooking but if you decide to cook, the supermarket is outside the ground floor. You can bring the groceries and cook a lavish dinner for yourself to enjoy on the dining table inside while watching the Marina or you can just skip that and visit Fogueira restaurant on the 35th floor to enjoy some Brazilian delight with live music and dancing. The open terrace at Foguera is perfect at this time of the year.
It was my first time trying a Brazilian night, live singers were remarkable, and the traditional Brazilian dancers added to our amusement. The spectacular views from our seat and the menu was more than I had expected. The system works like, they will give you cards to continue or stop, if you keep it towards green, the server will keep bringing all the grills and food to your table and if you want to take a break, turn it to red and breathe or a while and boom you start again. My kids and husband enjoyed everything they had to offer but as a vegetarian was puzzled if I could eat anything. I started off with the salad bar and then the chef brought the idea of trying their vegetarian and vegan menu. I chose their homemade recipe of vegan burger and yes it was delicious. We danced and enjoyed the night at Fogueira and will definitely recommend it to everyone.
Morning walk at the JBR was great, fresh cool air by the beach and I also happened to capture in the sunrise from the window, so exciting. The hotel offers a full-day dining and British pub as well, a large outdoor pool, gym, the sauna is available for the guests to use. The best part was the outdoor cinema for kids after dawn. The breakfast in the morning was lavish and had everything for everyone. The servers were so friendly and accommodating, they made sure that we get a comfortable seat for breakfast. The hotel was totally full so there were a lot of guests for breakfast, but they made sure everything went well and running.
We loved our time at Delta Hotels, we definitely want to go back again. Thank you for your hospitality. You can see my video blog here below and if you like it please don’t forget to like and subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=vzznyv26KbM
