Siji Thajudeen, Financial Controller at The Chedi Al Bait, has been honored as one of Hozpitality's Best 30 Finance and Revenue Leaders in the Middle East for 2024.
Siji's journey in the hospitality sector began in 2007 at Rotana Group's Al Murooj hotels in the UAE, starting as an Outlet Cashier. He progressed through various roles within the Finance department, eventually becoming the Credit Manager at The Cove Rotana from 2010 to 2013. He also served as the pre-opening Credit Manager for the Iconic Hilton Conrad on Sheikh Zayed Road. After a brief hiatus, he returned to The Cove Rotana as a Financial Accountant, where he remained until 2018.
In 2018, Siji took on a new challenge at The Chedi Al Bait (GHM) in Sharjah, a prestigious luxury chain brand in Singapore owned by Shurooq. He was appointed Chief Accountant and later promoted to Financial Controller/Head of Finance. His role was crucial in setting up the hotel's pre-opening operations and developing its financial standards, adhering to the USALI-11th Revised Edition and the latest hospitality accounting standards.
Throughout his career, Siji has gained a deep understanding of hotel operations and consistently met the demands of his roles. He excels in identifying and meeting the hotel's needs, arranging necessary resources, and effectively managing conflicts in a way that respects everyone involved. Known for his ability to inspire and lead his team towards achieving goals and fostering a culture of cooperation, Siji is recognized for his professional qualifications, including a Master of Commerce degree and a Certificate from FMVA (Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst) from CFI.
