All restaurants at the luxury hotel pull out all the stops in December for a memorable Christmas in the capital
Bringing residents the festive spirit is Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, with a fully packed schedule of seasonal activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The customary tree-lighting ceremony on 6 December 2018 starts the celebrations on a high note. The hotel’s own choir will perform carols live in the lobby, starting at 7:30 p.m. Guests are invited to enjoy mulled grape, eggnog, cookies and juices while the lights come on. Special goodies and hampers will also be available for purchase.
Catering to every palate this season, the kitchen brigade at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi has designed festive menus across all of its dining venues for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The award-winning Sofra bld serves a lavish dinner spread on 24 and 25 December 2018, with traditional favourites like Roast Turkey along with a variety of mouth-watering desserts all set in the midst of a souq-style restaurant. The buffet, priced at AED260, can also be enjoyed on the terrace by the Pool Bar.
The Christmas Day Polar Brunch is celebrated in full swing at Sofra bld, welcoming all to experience the spirit of the season in the company of the near and dear. Priced at AED345, this dining experience is packed with lively activities for children and adults alike.
Bringing the taste of France to Abu Dhabi for the festive period is the capital’s favourite French restaurant. Bord Eau offers a carefully crafted five-course menu featuring classic French recipes prepared with a contemporary twist. Serving as the perfect treat on 24 and 25 December 2018, the dinner is priced at AED450.
Those who prefer to celebrate with authentic Asian flavours can explore Vietnamese favourites with the four-course set menu at Hoi An for lunch or dinner at AED310. For a taste of Cantonese cuisine at its finest, guests can reserve a table at Shang Palace where a five-course dinner set menu will be served for AED355. Both menus will be served on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Continuing the joyful celebrations on 25 December 2018, Shang Palace offers a festive twist to its popular dim sum set menu brunch priced at AED225.
A special festive-themed afternoon tea menu, Polar High Tea, will also be served at the Lobby Lounge for AED100 from 3 to 6 p.m. every day between 3 December 2018 and 7 January 2019.
Creating the complete festive feel is the special treatment launched for the season at CHI, The Spa. The new Pumpkin, Spice and Everything Nice is a 120-minute-long full-body treatment priced at AED1,000, available exclusively between 1 December 2018 and 5 January 2019. Guests can experience the relaxing benefits of pumpkin’s natural enzymes, antioxidants and alpha hydroxy acids that instantly boost the skin’s radiance. This delightful winter-oriented treatment begins with a Pumpkin and Spice Body Peel and Wrap, followed by a 60-minute full-body massage, with the option of nail treatment add-ons.
