Sensei Appoints Senior Vice President Operations & People Operations and Director of Wellness Research

(Los Angeles, CA, September 16, 2020) -Senseiannounces the appointment of Sandra Foyil as Senior Vice President of Operations and People Operations, and Dr. Vishal Patel (Ph.D. and MD) as the Director of Wellness Research. With extensive backgrounds in the world of health and wellness, Foyil and Patel bring veteran experience to the new wellbeing brand, founded by tech mogul Larry Ellison and world-leading physician and scientist Dr. David Agus.

Sandra Foyil

As Senior Vice President of Operations and People Operations, Foyil is responsible for all operations and people services for Sensei Wellness. Foyil joins the Sensei team with a unique skill set backed by a law degree from Rutgers University, Master of Science in Labor and Industrial Relations from New York Institute of Technology and more than 20 years as a leader in the wellness and hospitality industries. Prior to her role at Sensei, Foyil was the COO and CPO for Mynd, formerly known as Red Door Spas, overseeing 26 facilities and 1,200 employees. Additionally, Foyil worked at Canyon Ranch for 15 years with executive oversight of 22 globally positioned spa, fitness, wellness and medispa operations and onboarded five distinctive cruise lines along with a global crew from nearly 60 countries, performing 450,000 treatments annually. During her tenure at Canyon Ranch, Foyil was involved in various expansions of the brand including locations in Las Vegas, Miami Beach and the growth of Canyon Ranch At Sea from one location to 22 locations in just five years.

Dr. Vishal N. Patel

Patel joins Sensei as the Director of Wellness Research, tasked to build the brands Knowledge Base to create, evaluate and disseminate evidence-led content and programming to guests. Patel will also be responsible for vetting technology and services to ensure they reflect today's most current standards supported by empirical evidence. Patel earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) as well as a Ph.D. in Genetics from Case Western Reserve University, and a certificate in Ayurveda from Gujarat Ayurved University in India. Prior to joining Sensei, Patel worked with nationally renowned healthcare systems, including Geisinger, Baylor Scott White, and Parkland Hospital, on the design, implementation, and analysis of programs to improve the health of populations. He also worked at three different start-ups, designing, building and delivering data science solutions to reduce adverse events and costs. Patels expansive background in health and science also extends to academia, having served as a faculty member at his alma mater, as well as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Biomedical Informatics.
