At the Middle East F&B Excellence Awards 2025, Samreen Fatima, the Food Safety & Hygiene Manager at Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel Dubai, was commended in the Hygiene Officer of the Year category. With a remarkable career spanning over 15 years in the hospitality industry, Samreen has proven herself as a dedicated professional specializing in food safety, hygiene management, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
Samreen’s career began in 2006 when she joined Boeker Public Health, a leading public health organization focused on food safety and hygiene. As a Senior Food Safety Specialist, she honed her expertise in food safety management systems, internal audits, and implementing sanitation programs. This experience laid a solid foundation for her career in hospitality, where she transitioned into managing food safety protocols in luxury hotels.
In 2010, Samreen took on the role of Hygiene Manager at The Address Hotels + Resorts in Dubai, where she successfully led hygiene management initiatives and food safety programs. Her strategic oversight helped ensure compliance with stringent hygiene standards across multiple properties, enhancing guest safety and satisfaction.
In 2018, Samreen joined Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel as the Food Safety & Hygiene Manager, where she currently leads the hotel’s food safety operations. Her responsibilities include implementing HACCP training for staff, conducting regular audits, and ensuring the highest standards of hygiene across the property’s food and beverage outlets. Under her leadership, the hotel has received recognition for its adherence to international food safety and hygiene standards.
Samreen is an expert in HACCP, food safety training, and the green initiative for sustainable practices. She is committed to fostering a culture of safety and cleanliness, ensuring that every aspect of the hotel’s food and beverage operations meets the highest industry standards.
Her educational background, with a Master’s degree in Microbiology from Bangalore University, further enhances her ability to address complex food safety challenges.
