His career highlights include successful pre-opening experiences, meticulous planning, and organizing operational requirements for housekeeping, guest rooms, front, and back-of-house cleaning, and linen and uniform room operations. Prabhat's commitment to constantly reviewing policies and procedures and overseeing department operations has been pivotal in recognizing and grooming potential talents within his team.
Prabhat's involvement in both frontline duties and the administrative aspect of housekeeping gives him a comprehensive understanding of the department's role in a hotel's success. His strong leadership and communication skills have been instrumental in team building, staff retention, structured regular training, higher guest satisfaction scores, and succession planning. Prabhat's passion for his job significantly contributes to the company's revenue, guest satisfaction, and employee satisfaction targets.
A hospitality professional and hotel specialist, Prabhat studied hospitality management in India before working for the Jaypee Group of Hotels, Hyatt, and IHG in various roles across India, Dubai, Kuwait, and Qatar. Currently, he serves as the Director of Housekeeping and Quality at Intercontinental Doha The City and Intercontinental Residence Suites, an iconic 225-meter tower in the heart of Doha's business west bay hub. Prabhat takes pride in seeing his team grow to different levels and positions, consistently motivating them to deliver superior results.
Prabhat also served as President of the Asian Housekeepers Association and was the founder and chairperson of the Kuwait Housekeeper's Group (2009) and Qatar Housekeepers Association (2013). As a founding member of the Asian Housekeepers Association (AHA), he has been instrumental in advancing the housekeeping profession in the region.
Prabhat Shukla has garnered significant recognition throughout his career for his outstanding contributions to the housekeeping profession. He was ranked No.1 in #Power25 Housekeepers in SE Asia, the Middle East & Africa by Hotelier Web in 2020. Prabhat has also been honored as Housekeeper of the Year at the 2012 Hotelier Middle East Awards and the 2015 Hozpitality MENA Awards. Additionally, he received the Highly Commended Housekeeper accolade at the 2016 Hotelier Middle East Awards and the 2017 Hotel News Middle East Awards. His consistent excellence has placed him among the Top 5 Housekeepers in the region in 2011, 2014, and 2017.
Prabhat has successfully conducted Housekeeping Olympics and Conclaves, empowered his team with room attendant business cards, and motivated them with initiatives like "Let's Dance" to start busy, hectic days. His motto, "Knowledgeable room attendant = clean rooms," reflects his dedication to maintaining high standards in housekeeping.
