At the Middle East F&B Excellence Awards 2025, held on February 4, 2025, at the JW Marriott, Marina, Dubai, Paul Evans, and Freek Teusink, co-founders of Solutions Leisure Group, were honored with the Gold Award in the Restaurateur of the Year category.
In 2001, Paul Evans and Freek Teusink established Solutions Leisure Group in Hurghada, Egypt, aiming to revolutionize the region's nightlife by introducing house music and European bands. Their efforts transformed Hurghada Marina Boulevard into a premier destination on the Red Sea.
After relocating to Dubai in 2011, they identified a gap in the hospitality market and launched Q43 on the 43rd floor of Media One Hotel. This venture marked the beginning of their successful expansion into the UAE's hospitality scene.
Today, Solutions Leisure Group operates several acclaimed venues, including, Lock, Stock & Barrel JBR, Asia Asia Dubai Marina, Ula, and The Showhouse. These establishments have become staples in Dubai's dining and entertainment landscape, attracting both residents and tourists.
Paul Evans, serving as the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, has been instrumental in the strategic growth and expansion of the group. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication have been pivotal in establishing Solutions Leisure Group as a market leader in the hospitality industry. Freek Teusink, the Co-Founder and Managing Partner, brings decades of experience as a sound engineer, consultant, and in concept development and hospitality operations. He leads the conceptualization, design, and build of the group's award-winning venues, blending artistic expression with functional design to create unique and breathtaking spaces.
