Mohit Waldia Honored with Gold for Commi Chef of the Year at the Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2024
Mohit Waldia was awarded the prestigious gold Commi Chef of the Year at the 7th Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2024.
The event, held on June 7th at the JW Marriott Dubai Marina and organized by Hozpitality Group, celebrates the exceptional skills and talents of chefs throughout the industry, recognizing their dedication and culinary artistry.
Currently a Commis Chef at Zero Gravity, Mohit Waldia has made significant strides in his career. His journey reflects his passion for the culinary arts and his relentless pursuit of excellence. Mohit's career path showcases a blend of formal education and hands-on experience, making him a well-rounded and skilled chef. Mohit's foundation in the culinary arts began at the Amrapali Institute of Technology & Sciences, where he earned a degree focused on Hotel/Motel Administration/Management. This educational background gave him a solid understanding of the hospitality industry, preparing him for the dynamic and demanding environment of professional kitchens.
In February 2022, Mohit joined Al Riyadha Hospitality as a Commis Chef. Before his tenure at Al Riyadha Hospitality, Mohit gained valuable experience at Westin Hotels & Resorts. From September 2021 to December 2021, he underwent job training in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, where he was involved in various kitchen tasks under supervision, enhancing his practical skills and culinary knowledge. Earlier, as an Internship Trainee at Westin Hotels & Resorts from January 2019 to June 2019, he gained hands-on experience in kitchen operations, further solidifying his understanding of the culinary industry.
The gold award presented to Mohit by Sadik Variyathodi, General Manager of Restofair RAK, reflects his outstanding contribution to the culinary field and his commitment to excellence at Zero Gravity. This accolade highlights his skills and creativity and underscores his dedication to pushing the boundaries of flavor and presentation.
