Kostas Sfaltos Appointed General Manager of The Berkeley and The Emory
Kostas has extensive experience in London 5-star luxury sector, having held positions as General Manager of the Old Aldwych Hotel and Hotel Manager during the opening of Café Royal.
London, 15th October: Experienced hotelier Kostas Sfaltos has been appointed General Manager of The Berkeley and The Emory in Belgravia, which are part of the prestigious Maybourne collection of hotels alongside Claridge’s and The Connaught in London as well as The Maybourne Riviera and The Maybourne Beverly Hills.
Sfaltos has been working in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, most recently as Managing Director of Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge. He has significant experience within the 5-star luxury market within London in particular, with previous roles including General Manager of Old Aldwych Hotel and Hotel Manager for the launch of Café Royal.
With a successful track record of opening new hotels alongside steering well-established properties to continued growth, Sfaltos is perfectly positioned to take on this new leadership role as General Manager of both properties. His role will also oversee Surrenne, Maybourne’s new longevity Member’s Club which features four subterranean floors of wellbeing, found below The Emory.
Commenting on his new position, Sfaltos said, “I am excited to join Maybourne as they continue to grow and very much look forward to being part of energetic and creative hotel teams who consistently lead the way in the art of extraordinary hospitality.”
The Berkeley is the essence of contemporary chic and is beloved by all, from families stepping up for a sweet treat at the first Cédric Grolet patisserie outside France, to those seeking an urban retreat in the heart of London.
By contrast, The Emory is London’s first all-suite hotel, and a modern architectural masterpiece designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of RSHP. Since opening its door earlier this year, the hotel has set a new standard of modern luxury and is fast becoming a favourite destination for guests looking for discreet and personal 5-star service in the capital.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Kostas Sfaltos to our Maybourne family. Kostas brings many years of experience as well as a dynamic approach to hotel management. His experience will help drive the continued success and growth of The Berkeley and The Emory and position them at the forefront of the ultra-luxury landscape in London,” says Roland Fasel, Maybourne’s Chief Operating Officer.
