Karan Singh Tanwar, Chief Engineer at Four Points by Sheraton New Delhi, was honored with the Gold Award at the Indian Hospitality Excellence Awards 2024 for his outstanding contributions to the engineering and sustainability efforts in the hospitality industry. With over 7 years of experience managing day-to-day engineering operations, Karan has built a reputation as a team leader focused on energy efficiency, plant and machinery upgrades, and sustainability.
Currently, Karan serves as Chief Engineer at Four Points by Sheraton New Delhi, where he has been instrumental in managing budget planning and vendor management and overseeing the repair and maintenance functions, including preventive and predictive maintenance. His passion for sustainability is reflected in his continuous efforts to upgrade plants and machinery to reduce energy consumption, aligning with the industry's growing emphasis on environmental responsibility.
Before his role at Four Points, Karan was the Chief Engineer at Vivanta by Taj-Dal View, where he managed the technical operations of a luxury 5-star hotel in Srinagar, handling ambient temperatures ranging from -10°C to 35°C. Karan also worked with DLF Hospitality and ITC Limited, managing the technical operations for luxurious 5-star properties such as ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru and Sheraton New Delhi Hotel in Saket. His leadership in projects like Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and HVAC systems has been central to his success.
Karan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University, and his career reflects a deep commitment to optimizing hotel operations while prioritizing sustainability.
