Are you still searching for a great place to spend your Iftar dinner? Come and visit Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa with your family and friends and experience a true Arabian hospitality at the Pharaoh restaurant.
Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa is strategically located on Al Fahidi Street, Al Seef area. The hotel itself is surrounded by the famous historical landmarks like the Dubai Museum and Dubai government offices. A boat ride crossing Dubai Creek is just a 5-minute walk. Pay only AED 1, and feel like an ordinary person, I guess, that’s the best part of the ride. The boat will take you to Deira area, near Gold Souq and vice versa. There are a lot of shops that offers very good price of merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else.
Focusing on the Pharaoh restaurant, a lavish Iftar buffet dinner will be waiting for you. As the name suggest, it is an Egyptian-themed restaurant. Let me take you through from the entrance of the hotel... Arriving at the hotel, the lobby design depicts an Arabic culture. A guest relation personnel greeted us and as I mentioned that I came for an Iftar buffet, he took us to the mezzanine floor of the hotel. The hallway itself would take you back to different culture wherein each side of the wall are paintings from different country, reflecting the primitive & medieval times. There are ornamental displays which are a true work of art. Me and my friend enjoyed the decorations, as if we were little kids that went in a museum on a field trip. We shamelessly take pictures of us from the hallway, down to the lobby.
As you enter the restaurant, a human-sized pharaoh statue is at the entrance. Inside is an Arabic setting wherein one can wear costumes & take pictures if you opt to feel and look like an Arab for a minute. The dining area offers a comfortable seating. Starting with an Arabic coffee & dates. Selection of juices is on the trail. Culinary showcases a combination of Arabic sub-continent and International cuisines. To name a few, there is chicken tikka, lamb chop and shish taouk. The salad station offers: fruit chat, channa chaat, fatoush, aloo chaat, hummus, tabbouleh, vine leaves and babaganoush. Koshiary is new to my taste, but I like it. Different Arabic sweets is a mainstay like: umm ali, badam kheer and jelabi.
My favorites from the menu were: chili chicken, murgh kadari, lahon fish & lamb kofta. I am with a friend who is fond of cooking and she said that the food tastes really good – meat is tender and overall, it is tasty. Great venue to bring your friends along.
