This season, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai celebrates its 20th year of culinary excellence with three signature restaurants showcasing modern and timeless dishes, each representing gourmet highlights of the last two decades.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai opened its door to welcome Ladies and Gentlemen in September 1998 as an intimate oasis that perfectly blends legendary hospitality with the essence of Middle Eastern traditions, providing authentic and intuitive service; a place where memorable experiences are crafted and indelible marks are left.
A pioneer of opening a series of fine dining, award winning restaurants by world renowned chefs, offering authentic menus, gourmet ingredients and a unique innovative dining affair the hotel has set new lifestyle standards in the United Arab Emirates. This tradition continues with the hotel remaining to raise the bar in culinary excellence across each of its nine restaurants and bars.
Between 27 September and 16 October 2018, the award-winning beachfront resort invites guests to indulge in exquisite four-course gourmet menus available at Splendido Social Bar and Kitchen, Blue Jade and Palm Grill each recreating the most exceptional dishes of the past and present.
Homage to 1998 at Splendido Social Bar and Kitchen:
To where it all began in 1998, the special legacy menu is available at Splendido Social Bar and Kitchen, one of the city’s original and best loved Italian institutions which first opened its doors two decades ago with the launch of the hotel.
Splendido has crafted a commemorative bespoke anniversary menu which takes its inspiration from the culinary traditions of Italy and can be enjoyed within the relaxed setting of the restaurant, or, al-fresco on the much celebrated Piazza Splendido.
Heritage dishes have been recreated including Carpaccio di Aragosta circa 2003 - succulent lobster antipasto, perfectly paired with a fresh Sorrento lemon dressing, followed by Risotto Allo Zafferano a veal cheek and saffron risotto created in 2006 and Branzino Al Cartoccio, a flavoursome wild sea bass dish that first captivated connoisseurs more than a decade ago. The menu is topped off by the much adored Crostatina di Mela Annurca, a modern take on the traditional Southern Italian apple tart, accompanied by ricotta ice-cream and seasonal black truffle.
A captivating Asian discovery at Blue Jade
Asian dining aficionados will be wowed by delightful dishes from signature restaurant Blue Jade. The gourmet establishment will take guests on an enticing journey through the Far East with a unique harmony of exotic aromas and authentic flavors from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and China. True culinary artistry is displayed within the memorial Blue Jade menu with classic starters making an appearance including Beef Tataki, circa 2014 served with an invigorating wasabi salsa, or the simple Pomelo Salad with a fresh lime and chili dressing. Gourmands can also enjoy traditional dishes such as Ginger Sea Bass wrapped in Lotus Leaf, or the classic Black Pepper Beef, followed by the light but decadent Banana Sago dessert which first graced the opening menu in 2013.
Casual chic Beachside at Palm Grill
Combining a rustic charm, with exclusive and intuitive Ritz-Carlton service, Palm Grill, the only dining destination located directly on the sand boasting breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf, offers the perfect, relaxed, comfortable ambience. Highlights of the celebratory menu includes the Classic Ceviche, a medley of sea bass, octopus and cancha corn infused with bell pepper, lime and black pepper, or the ever-popular Surf and Turf, of prime tenderloin, perfectly punctuated by citrus poached Omani prawn and grilled asparagus.
20th anniversary Cocktail and Mocktail
Guests are invited to raise a glass to the next 20 years and look forward to creating timeless moments with the new 20th Anniversary cocktail, The Ritztini and mocktail, The Summer Ritz. The Ritzini combines fresh chili infused black tea and ginger to create an invigorating aperitivo, whilst The Summer Ritz is the ideal commencement to each of the special culinary journeys. This refreshing mocktail highlights the fruity flavors of green apple and pineapple with a special instilment of rose water, perfectly accented by the subtle undertones of basil oil created with herbs directly from the hotel’s gardens.
