I Wayan Murdikayasa, affectionately known as Murdika, began his career journey at Atlantis The Palm as a Housekeeping Guest Room Valet in 2009. Through relentless dedication and a passion for excellence, he swiftly ascended the ranks to become one of the youngest Housekeeping Managers at the age of 29. Managing the housekeeping operations of a 1544-room property at such a young age reflects his exceptional leadership and management skills.
Murdika's tenure at Atlantis has marked the Palm with Significant achievements and milestones. He played a pivotal role in the hotel's attainment and consistently maintained the prestigious four-star Forbes classification over four consecutive years. His leadership oversaw major housekeeping projects, including quarterly deep cleaning initiatives and bi-annual preventive maintenance (PPM) programs across all guest rooms.
Under his guidance, Murdika enhanced guest room amenities and product offerings, aligning them with elevated quality and sustainability standards. He personally led the massive guest room refurbishment and reupholstery projects, managing every aspect from fabric selection to budgeting, procurement, and execution. His meticulous approach also extended to overseeing the full refurbishment of Atlantis guest rooms in 2017 and spearheading the carpet replacement project in 2021.
Beyond operational excellence, Murdika's innovative leadership extended to optimizing the minibar operation at Atlantis The Palm. Taking charge of the minibar in 2021, he implemented new processes that significantly enhanced service delivery, financial performance, and colleague satisfaction. Under his management, minibar revenue remarkably increased, doubling from $1.1 million in 2019 to $2.1 million in 2023.
