Haitham Mattar of IHG Hotels & Resorts Recognized as Dynamic Hotelier of the Year at the 7th Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards

Dubai, UAE - December 2021-  Haitham Mattar,  Managing Director for the MEA and South West Asia, IHG Hotels and Resorts, is this year's  Judges Choice for Dynamic Hotelier of the Year  from the recently concluded 7^th Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards, held at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club. The award was presented by Filippo Sona of Wood Couture and Raj Bhatt, CEO of Hozpitality Group.

Nearly a year ago, when Haitham Mattar joined IHG Hotels and Resorts. Undoubtingly, his expertisewas demonstratedgiven the responsibility of managing IHG's business and growth strategy across Middle East Africa and South West Asia. He focuses on delivering value to his team members, partners, and owners.

Prior to joining IHG, Haitham Mattar had become a prominent personality in the UAE. He was the Chief Executive Officer at Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority for four years. He developed a new destination from repositioning to rebranding. Launched first-ever tourism strategy. Drove tourism growth that exceeds global growth rates, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as one of the fastest-growing destinations in the world and putting it on the world map. He carved out a niche in Adventure Tourism and build unique adventure products, including the world's longest zip line.

IHG Hotels and Resorts also won the Silver Award for Hospitality Excellence - Best Hospitality Employer of the Year. The award was presented by Adel Sajan, Chairman of Danube Group, and Raj Bhatt, CEO of Hozpitality Group.
