Edwin Miranda named among Hozpitality’s Commended Housekeeping Leaders in the Middle East for 2023
Edwin Miranda, Housekeeping Manager at The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah, has over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry.
Edwin Miranda's career in the hospitality industry began at the age of 19 when he joined the Taj Group of hotels in India as a Room Attendant. From there, he moved to Dubai and landed a job at Jumeirah's iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel, where he spent 13 years honing his craft as a Room Attendant, Order Taker, and Senior Team Leader.
In 2016, Edwin joined the pre-opening team for The Chedi Al Bait, where he was hired as a Housekeeping Supervisor and quickly climbed the ranks to Assistant Housekeeping Manager. Throughout his career, Edwin has demonstrated a passion for people and an eagerness to find innovative solutions to complex problems. His open-minded approach has earned him a reputation as a dependable problem-solver, capable of troubleshooting issues and delivering timely solutions.
In addition to his natural talent for problem-solving, Edwin is also committed to ongoing professional development. He has completed a Task Trainer Course and plans to continue taking training classes and engaging with professional associations to expand his skill set and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
Edwin's dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including the Best Newcomer Award for Outstanding Work and Dedication at Burj Al Arab Hotel in 2003, a Certificate of Appreciation for Dubai 2003 IMF Events, and the Most Improved Award in 2004 for Outstanding Performance, Initiative, Hard work, and Sense at Burj Al Arab Hotel. In addition, he was awarded Colleague of the Month for May 2005 for Outstanding Performance at Burj Al Arab Hotel.
