Dubai, UAE; 2 April 2019: As the city transforms into a vibrant performance circuit this April, Dubai is all set to draw in the biggest names from the global industry. With the growing appetite for home-grown laughs encouraging many aspiring comedians and A-list comics to bring their razor-sharp humour to audiences across Dubai, the city will come alive with a roster of hilarious acts set to appear in the coming months.
One of Britain’s most recognisable stand-ups and a regular fixture on the Dubai comedy circuit, British comedian Al Murray will be bringing his unique brand of humour back to the city on 11 April at Dubai Opera. His shows have put him at the top of the sell-out stand-up gig list in the UK, with critics hailing his act as ‘one of the funniest of the decade, if not the century.’
Another one of the UK’s most loved personalities, Michael McIntyre will return to Dubai on 25 and 26 April for the new season of Dubai-based show, DXB Laughs, bringing a brand new routine full of jokes and observational comedy. He will be performing on stage at the Dubai World Trade Centre as part of his highly anticipated ‘Big World Tour’ promising an evening of uncontrollable laughter for all.
The Laughter Factory, Dubai’s pioneering home grown comedy club, builds on the region’s rich traditions of authentic and humorous storytelling; in fact, the group has just celebrated its 22nd year of bringing world-class talent to the Middle East. Gail Clough, Founder of The Laughter Factory says “the Laughter Factory is the Middle East’s longest-running comedy night, having brought exciting line-ups from USA and UK television to the region for more than a thousand packed houses. From Russell Peters, Michael McIntryre and Frankie Boyle, to Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and many more, the city welcomes legends from around the globe to entertain the people of Dubai.”
The Laughter Factory is hosting its “Tickle Your Funny Bone” tour throughout April, with three international legends taking to the stage. The line-up includes Britain’s Got Talent star, Daliso Chaponda, who has had over 100 million views of his performances; Award-winning comedian and one of the strongest acts on both the UK and Canadian circuits, Dana Alexander; and European comic and favourite on the UK and Australian comedy scene, George Zach.
