In a glittering ceremony celebrating excellence in the hospitality sector, Dr. Laxmi Todiwan, Founder of Indian Women in Hospitality, was bestowed with the prestigious Silver for Hidden Gem of the Year at the 3rd Indian Hospitality Excellence Awards. The remarkable event unfolded its grandeur at the Shilp Wellness Resort and Spa in Mumbai, India, on February 3, 2024.
Dr. Laxmi Todiwan, a seasoned University Professor and Hospitality Educator with over 25 years of rich experience in Hotel Operations, Learning, & Development, has emerged as a prominent figure in the industry. Her multifaceted expertise encompasses Hospitality Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Innovation, Change Management, Strategic Leadership, Coaching, PR, Skills and Behavioral Training, NLP Coaching, Counseling, Blogging, Column Writing, and Show Hosting.
Championing the cause of women's empowerment, Dr. Todiwan has been a staunch advocate for fostering inclusive environments within the hospitality landscape. Her dynamic skill set and passion for uplifting women in the industry have positioned her as a catalyst for positive change.

Dr. Todiwan's impactful journey includes her role as a Professor and Head of Department at Apeejay Institute of Hospitality since April 2007. Simultaneously, she has been the Founder of Indian Women in Hospitality (IWH) since February 2018, dedicating her time to empowering women professionals.
Her earlier roles include being a Lecturer at the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai, from 2001 to 2007. Before her academic career, she was an Assistant Manager at Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces from 1997 to 2001.
Dr. Laxmi Todiwan holds a B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai, which was awarded in 1997. Additionally, she pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Training & Development from The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) during 2001-2003.
Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through certifications like Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) from AHLEI - American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and Certified Train the Trainer from The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).
