Disney on Ice Spectacular and Russell Peters Comedy Show Bring 30,000 Fans to Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi celebrates huge success of live events with Yas Island venue attracting massive crowds

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 04October 2021 Abu Dhabi has successfully and safely hosted two live events over the last month, attracting more than 30,000 ticketholders in total to the Disney on Ice and An Evening with Russell Peters shows at Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
Disney on Ice, the first performance of the show outside of the US since the pandemic began, enchanted audiences with 10 days of choreographed extravaganzas telling both classic and new stories.
Starring Disney's loveable characters, including House of Mouse's stars - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, the show also included modern crowd favourites such as Moana; and Anna and Elsa from Frozen. The show won the hearts of adAults and children alike by displaying several fascinating performances, including a skate-sung soundtrack of Moana's 'How Far I'll Go', Frozen's 'Let it Go' and 'In Summer'. Those born in the 80s received the most incredible nostalgic throwback with Sebastian and Ariel, Rapunzel and Flynn, and Beauty and the Beast.
A stellar success for Abu Dhabi, the international event showcased the emirates full capability to safely host live, large-scale entertainment events.
Furthermore, the emirate also played host to the ground-breaking show of the world-renowned Canadian comedian, Russell Peters, who brought big laughs from the thoroughly entertained crowd with his hilarious and witty observations.

The impressive calendar of entertainment continues throughout the year and into 2022. International sporting events include UFC 267: BLACHOWICZ vs. TEIXEIRA, the ICC Mens T20 World Cup, Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and FINA World Swimming Championships. Abu Dhabi will also play host to the Arijit Singh Concert on 19 November and the Michael McIntyre comedy show on 26 November.
