Doğuş Hospitality & Retail Group is delighted to announce a new appointment at their infamous D Maris Bay, Datça Peninsula.
Joining the resort as General Manager, Vito Romeo brings with him more than 30 years of hospitality experience, a passion for excellence, and unquestionable enthusiasm for the luxury hospitality industry.
Born in Italy, Vito Romeo grew up in the southeast of France before his career saw him move between Europe, Asia, and the USA, holding senior positions in multiple hospitality brands, including Rosewood, Ritz-Carlton, and Shangri-la. From 2018, he was Managing Director at Rosewood Sanya, before working at the Iconic Rosewood Beijing, where he played an instrumental role in the hotel’s success.
During his time as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu, Vito Romeo successfully built the hotel into a benchmark for luxury hotels in the Chengdu market; prior to this, he accumulated solid hospitality management knowledge and skills at Shangri-La Bosphorus Istanbul and Shangri-La Vancouver. Holding a degree in hospitality management from the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France, Vito Romeo is also a graduate of Cornell University’s general managers' program, before beginning his hospitality career as an apprentice chef at La Coupole Hotel Mirabeau in Monte Carlo.
Over the next decade, he progressed through both kitchen and food & beverage management roles in leading luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants in Monaco, Paris, London, and New York City. His comprehensive experiences in hotel operations, with a particular passion for food and beverage, include close working relationships with legendary chefs Alain Ducasse and Joel Robuchon.
