Basel Abboud, Director of Food & Beverage, Grand Millennium Al Wahda Abu Dhabi, has been honoured as one of Hozpitality's Best 30 F&B Leaders in the Middle East for 2024. With over 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, Basel Abboud has distinguished himself as a dynamic and results-driven leader in the GCC region's hospitality sector.
Currently serving as the Director of Food & Beverage at Grand Millennium Al Wahda Abu Dhabi, Basel oversees operations at one of the region's most prestigious hotel properties, managing up to eight outlets and expansive banquet and catering facilities and leading a team of 120 members.
Basel's exceptional career has been defined by his hands-on leadership style and service-oriented approach. He is known for his direct accountability and expertise in managing large-scale operations, including handling budgets of up to AED 40 million. His strategic insight, operational acumen, and strong financial management skills have enabled him to implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality service standards successfully.
One of Basel's standout achievements includes his role in the successful opening of the Expo 2020 Leadership Pavilion and the Stella Di Mare Hotel in Dubai, where he managed the launch of four distinct food and beverage outlets. His ability to drive operations from the ground up and his talent for developing and mentoring teams have made him a valuable asset in the hospitality industry.

In addition to his impressive operational experience, Basel holds a Master's Degree in Hospitality Administration and Management from Cornell University (2018–2019), one of the world's leading institutions for hospitality education. He also earned his Hotel Institute Degree from Hotel Institute Aleppo, Syria (1996–1998), which laid the foundation for his remarkable career in the hospitality sector.
