All-Inclusive Riviera Maya Resort Hosts Largest Tequila Tasting Ever
MIAMI (March 2019) – On March 23, 2019, Barceló Maya Grand Resort (comprised of Barceló Maya Beach, Barceló Maya Caribe, Barceló Maya Colonial, Barceló Maya Tropical, and the all-suite, AAA Four-Diamond Barceló Maya Palace), made tequila history. The all-inclusive Riviera Maya resort achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the largest tequila tasting event of all time.
“Barceló Maya Grand Resort is the perfect place to experience Mexico’s signature spirit – tequila,” said Miguel Ángel Guardado, Director Barceló Hotel Group México. “Our record-breaking tasting event last night celebrated the authentic culture and heritage of tequila on the largest scale we could imagine.”
The tasting saw 1,449 tequila lovers sampling five premium Mexican tequila brands in the incomparable setting of the Convention Center Meeting Room Chichén Itzá. Organized in collaboration with the Certifying Company Tequila Royalty and directed by Tequila Technician Fernando Luevano, the record-breaking event also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Tequila Regulatory Council (TRC).
