Apples from Europe Participation at the World of Perishables Dubai 2019
Held last November 12 to 14 at DWTC
Promotional campaign "Strength of taste, vitamins and colors. Meet the quality of Apples from Europe” is gaining its momentum. This is due, among others, to the WOP Dubai (World of Perishables), which was attended by representatives of the Association of Polish Fruit and Vegetable Distributors 'Unia Owocowa' and the Union of Polish Fruit Growers.
The event took place 12th to 14th November at the Dubai World Trade Center and its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is dedicated exclusively to the world of fruit and vegetables.
At the almost 50-meter stand, financed by the European Union, apple producers and distributors had the opportunity to meet with contractors not only from the Emirates, but also the entire Gulf region.
The “Apples from Europe” stand was honored by its presence, among others Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, vice president of Dubai World Trade Center, who during the VIP tour, stopped at our stand and tried Apples from Europe and could personally feel it’s taste. The meeting was attended by the Polish Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Robert Rostek.
We received great support from Polish diplomats, especially from Ms. Katarzyna Katarzyna - First Counselor, Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Other distinguished guests visiting the European apple stand also included Mr. Saif Saeed Al Saadi, senior food safety specialist at the Dubai Municipality Food Safety Department and Mr. Mark Napier, Director of the Dubai World Trade Center, for events such as Gulfood - the largest food market in the Middle East.
Our producers and distributors had a lot of key business meetings with local importers and distributors, as well as hyper and supermarket chains.
Experts also visited the Al Aweer Fruit and Vegetable Market in Dubai, where almost all companies in this sector have their headquarters, there are also refrigerators and warehouses.
They met, among others, with the heads of buyers of fruit and vegetables from the largest hypermarket chain in the region - LuLu Group, MAF Carrefour and Choithrams, and many of the most important distributors, such as: KAF Group, Gholami & Abedi, Farzana Trading, Fruit Line Trading, Rush Group, Altaf Hussain Trading, Jaleel Hilding, Fit Fresh, Golden Garden Foodstuff Trading, Barakat or Al Bakrawe.
On the second day of the fair, we organized a conference at which our experts from the Association "Fruit Union" gave three lectures: "Information on the objectives and main activities of the campaign", "Characteristics, production and logistics of European apples", and "The level of export of apples from Europe along with the process certification of exported fruit. "
Foreword by Ms. Katarzyna Rzeźniczek, First Counselor of the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, thus giving the event greater prestige. The attendance at our presentations exceeded our expectations. Numerous people listened to individual presentations with interest. The audience included both key importers and distributors of fruit, the most important representatives of the UAE media, as well as representatives of such important institutions as Dubai Municipality.
Participation in the WOP Dubai was certainly a great opportunity to maintain existing relations with Emirati fruit sector entities, establish new contacts and promote the uniqueness of European apples.
