Announcing the Opening of Boutique Hotel El Llorenc in Palma de Mallorca
Offers 33 exclusive guest rooms, an infinity pool on the multi-terraced rooftop and a cocktail bar.
El Llorenç Parc de la Mar is set in the heart of La Calatrava, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Palma, Mallorca. Scheduled to open this summer, the hotel offers 33 exclusive guest rooms, an infinity pool on the multi-terraced rooftop and a cocktail bar. Whether relaxing in Balinese style sunbeds, or stopping by for drinks, guests will enjoy sweeping views of Palma Bay, the Cathedral and charming rooftops of the old town. Wellness facilities will feature spa treatments from the luxury Spanish brand Natura Bissé and an indoor pool. Dining options include DINS Santi Taura, a new destination restaurant from one of the island’s most respected chefs, and restaurant TANNUR which will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in a modern-day bistro setting.
The hotel interiors are the work of Swedish designer, Magnus Ehrland. Tapping into the local history and Moorish influence on the island, Ehrland has incorporated the use of geometric motifs throughout the design, into lattice work and tiling details. This rich aesthetics pay homage to the history of the neighborhood – where one can find the remnants of ancient Arab Baths and the architectural gem - La Almudaina - a former Muslim fortress, turned royal palace of the monarchs of the Kingdom of Mallorca.
Chef Santi Taura
El Llorenç will be home to a unique gastronomic offer spearheaded by renowned Majorcan Chef Santi Taura. DINS Santi Taura will offer a unique dining experience inspired by the island’s traditional cuisine, made with locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Bringing together elements from sea and land to your table, the chef will offer seafood from local waters, prized pork from an island producer and more unique specialties all within a distinct setting.
Restaurant TANNUR takes its name from an Arabic term for a special clay oven, hinting at possible techniques used in the restaurant. There is a secondary meaning that ties into the history of the neighborhood: it is where ancient craftsmen worked large stone vessels serving as part of the leather tannery process. Today, the light filled restaurant overlooking the Parc will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chef Santi Taura and his team will oversee all the food and beverage operations at hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar, including the rooftop terrace, bar and room service menus.
The Rooftop of El Llorenç
At the top of the three-tiered rooftop terrace, you'll find a cocktail bar where one can watch the sunset, see mega yachts sail by, or wile away the hours 'til dusk turns into night under a starry canopy. The 360-degree view is nothing less than breathtaking. Creative and delicious beverages are designed by talented mixologists.
Wellness
When it’s time to restore and refresh guests will find a haven of tranquility where they can indulge in beauty enhancing and body revitalizing treatments from Natura Bissé. In addition, guests will have access to the 14-meter indoor thermal pool, sauna, turkish bath, ice fountain, along with cascade and aromatic showers. The gym will be open 24 hours a day and is equipped with the latest fitness technology.
“We hope to add a distinctive boutique hotel to the city, with a unique look and feel, and amazing food and beverage options from Chef Santi Taura. We are honoring the island's local history, yet are modern and tech savvy for today's global nomads. Our location is ideal, and to top it off - we offer a killer view and amazing cocktails from our rooftop," says Joan Comas, General Manager.
"Creating an additional hotel in the luxury segment in Palma is challenging, but we believe that we are creating something that will speak to a clientele who appreciate the distinctive design which is woven into the fabric of the island's history. That combined with the extraordinary talents of the Chef Santi Taura, we hope to have a winning combination," says Rubén Zamora, General Director.
